Wine was one of the most remarkable and famous products produced by Chios in antiquity. The best of all was the "Ariousios wine". Its quality made him quickly famous in Greece and beyond. The Chian ships carried him everywhere in amphorae, provided that there are buyers, because it was sold expensive. The exceptional quality of cause admiration and praise.

The family Kefalas started make wine in the early '60s, at its traditional wine press ,in Kourounia near Amani in northwestern Chios and produced the famous "Kourouniotis" sweet red wine. In 2004 Dimitris Kefalas begins to create a modern winery in new premises, located in "Schinies" in Volissos. In 2010 his son Pantelis Kefalas, which is the third generation of winemakers, creating the "Domaine P. Kefalas," uniting the family vineyard and bottled their first wines. The winery "P. Kefalas Estate" located in "Schinies" Volissos in northwestern Chios, about 40 km from the city of Chios. The operation began in 2004 and has a capacity of 30 tons of wine. It has a mechanical press, chiller, refrigerated stainless steel tanks, wine-making tanks for red wine ,and tanks for stabilization. The bottling and packaging of the produced wine make with automatic monoblock filler engine and auto-labeller machine. In the basement cellar of the estate there are French oak barrels for aging wine. The entire process of production, from vineyard to bottle, checked in cooperation and under the supervision of experienced consultant, Kostas Alevizopoulos oenologist. In the winery, here is also a small shop where you can buy our wines, exclusive production of the estate. The future plans is the creation of the Exhibition of wines and tasting room to better serve visitors to the estate.

Idioniros red natural sweet wine

From mountain vineyards yield low area in northern Chios (ancient region of Ariousias famous for their wines) ,where we cultivate the local varieties Agianitiko, Fokiano and Mandilaria, we produce this red dessert wine, traditionally by sun exposition of grapes for two weeks in order to condense the flavour and the sugars. Dominate flavour notes of honey and dried fruit in the mouth and the rich flavour of rounds with soft tannins. Serve at 16-180 C.

Bottle 750ml and 187,5ml

Melanitis red semi-sweet wine

From mountain vineyards yield low area in northern Chios (ancient region of Ariousias famous for their wines), where we cultivate the local varieties Agianitiko, Fokiano and Mandilaria, we produce this red dessert wine, traditionally maturing grapes for two weeks in order to condense the flavour and the sugars. Dominate flavour notes of honey and dried fruit in the mouth and the rich flavour of rounds with soft tannins. Serve at 16-180 C.

Theikos red wine sec

From mountainous vineyards of northern Chios (ancient region of Ariousias famous for their wines), we produce by local varieties Agianitiko, Fokiano and Mandilaria, this red wine with deep red colour and purple hues. It is dense youthful nose with fruit, candy milk dominates over the flowering jasmine and hints of sweet spices. The mouth is dominated by rich alcohol and tannins keep their aggression even in the aftertaste. Served at 16-180 C and accompanies hunting, red meat and spicy cheese.

Evodiastos white wine sec

From mountainous vineyards of northern Chios (ancient region of Ariousia famous for their wines), we produce by local varieties Asyrtiko and Athiri, a rich flower and fruity aromas wine. Lively flavour with balanced acidity and long aftertaste. Bright golden colour with golden hues. Served at 8-100 C and accompanies seafood, poultry and fish.

Schinambelos white sweet flavored wine

From mountain vineyards yield low area in northern Chios (ancient region of Ariousias famous for their wines), where we cultivate the local varieties Asyrtiko and Athiri, we produce this white flavored dessert wine, by traditionally mature of grapes in order to condense the flavour and the sugars and adding mastic during fermentation. The extraction of the natural resin of the mastic during fermentation completes the flavor profile of wine produced fruit with a distinctive smell. Served as an aperitif at 16-180 C.
