Sidirounta located in the northwestern part of the island, 38 kilometers from the city of Chios, built on top of a hill, surrounded by pine and olive trees and a great view on the west of the island and on the Aegean Sea. Traditional village with stone houses, which at the time of Palaeologus was a shareholder of Nea Moni. There was a three storey tower in the center and castle with two entrance, part of which still survives today. It got its name probably from iron stones (Sidiropetres), which are abundant in the area and used to build the houses. At the foot of the hill spread small picturesque beaches with clear blue waters. Long sand, Tigani, Metohi and more.
